Liaison with general practitioners and hospitals—Close association has been fostered in
all aspects including case work and two specific measures of co-operation may be instanced.
A session in the programme of the local division of the British Medical Association, held
at a welfare centre, was devoted to the community care of the mentally disordered. About
50 general practitioners and consultants met members of the divisional health team.
Secondly, arrangements were made for the Council's social workers to attend the fortnightly
clinical conferences held at Tooting Bec hospital.
A weekly clinic conducted by a psychiatrist from Tooting Bec hospital for out-patient
treatment of the mentally ill was started at Putney health centre in January.
Staff— Dr. T. A. Plumley joined the division in March as deputy divisional medical
officer.
