area.
There was a net loss of 10,000 in the population from the previous year's figure; the
major fall was again in the 25.44 years age group. There was also a drop in the 5.14 age
group, but all the others shared increases, particularly in the under fives (the last is a
consequence of the increased birth rate of recent years).
