The subjoined chart shows the number of patients treated in the general hospitals
of the Council week by week during the year 1934, compared with the previous year.
It will be seen that no considerable variation has occurred during the past year.
Ceremonial openings of new blocks.
St. Giles'
hospital.
The new reception block at St. Giles' hospital, comprising out-patient and
ante-natal accommodation and casualty and receiving rooms, etc., was opened by
Lord Snell on 27th April.
Lewisham
hospital.
The Right Honourable Lord Dawson of Penn, P.C., G.C.V.O., M.D., LL.D.,
President of the Royal College of Physicians, opened on 9th October the new ward
block at Lewisham hospital. Lord Dawson subsequently expressed his commendation
of the design and work of the hospital.
