Notifications of diphtheria numbered 8,087 in 1932 (52 weeks), compared with
8,384 in 1931. This gives an attack-rate of 1.9 per thousand, which is the same as
in the preceding year. There were 313 deaths, giving a death-rate of 0.07 per thousand
living. The case-mortality was 3.9 per cent., compared with 3.1 per cent. in 1931.
