• The table shows, so far as the figures relating to notified cases of this disease can be trusted in this
connection, that the number of females attacked largely exceeds the number of males attacked, and
this is true, even when allowance is made for the excess of females in the total population.
Puerperal Fever.

The deaths in the Administrative County of London during the year 1908 (53 weeks) attributed to
puerperal fever1 numbered 137, as compared with 152 in 1907 (52 weeks).
