The majority of the children included in the above tables were brought by
school officers of the London County Council under powers conferred upon them by
the Education Act, 1944. Payment is made by the London County Council at the rate
of three shillings per child in respect of both verminous conditions and scabies,
subject to a minimum annual payment of £250.
