I set out a list of the areas included in the Slum Clearance Programme 1955
to 1960. Table I shows the areas to be dealt with by the Borough Council and
Table II those to be dealt with by the London County Council -

Poliomyelitis
The number of cases of poliomyelitis notified during the year was 4, of
which two were paralytic. The diagnosis in the other two cases was not confirmed.
Up to the end of June, 1959, there had been notified 5 cases, of which 3
were paralytic, one of whom died.
