The figures are equal to a death rate of 1.48 (1.21 pulmonary, 0.27 non-pulmonary)
per 1,000 population.
In regard to age incidence it will be seen that 74 per cent, of the deaths and 77 per
cent. of the notifications were of persons aged from 15 to 55 years, so far as concerns
pulmonary tuberculosis, while in regard to other forms of tuberculosis 60 per cent. of the
deaths and 64 per cent. of the new cases notified were of children aged 15 years or under.
The sex distribution of the notification rates and death rates for 1922 is shown in the following table:—
Notification rates per 1,000 Males or Females Living. | Death rates per 1,000 Males or Females Living. | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Pulmonary. | Non-pulmonary. | Total. | Pulmonary. | Non-pulmonary. | Total. | |

was nearly double (1.86 times) that amongst females; while for non-pulmonary tuberculosis
the death rate amongst males was less (0 80 times) than amongst females.
