The inspection of workshops and work plaees where women are employed,
and of domestic workshops and work places where home-workers are
employed, is done by the Woman Inspector (Miss Bibby).
Miss Bibbv combines a great deal of other work with these duties, and
during 1913 devoted but little of her time to workshops.
During the year she made 15 inspections of workshops, in respect of which
seven defects were found (viz., want of cleanliness, five; want of drainage of
floors, one; unsuitable sanitary accommodation, one). Written notices were
sent in respect of these defects, which were all remedied.
In addition, the District Inspectors included in their work a number of
inspections of workshops where women are employed.
