Margarine.—In September, fifteen samples of margarine were purchased and
submitted to the Public Analyst for the purpose of ascertaining their detail
composition, and the following is the Report of the Public Analyst:—

Mr. Chairman, Madam, and Gentlemen,—
In accordance with your instructions 1 have analysed the fifteen samples
of butter substitutes submitted to me during the early part of September by
your Inspectors, Messrs. Osborne, Child, and Auger.
The results obtained are set forth in the following table:—
