Flush Tanl;s for W.C's.—Your Council considered a communication from the
Borough of Wandsworth forwarding a copy of the following resolution, and
expressing the hope that your Council will concur in the views expressed, and
will inform the Water Board accordingly :—
"That the Water Board be informed that this Council is of opinion that,
"in the interests of public health, the substitution of two-gallon for
"three-gallon waste preventers and the removal of valve closets
"should not be insisted upon, and is further of opinion that the
" alteration would not conduce to the economic use of water."
Your Council understood that the alterations referred to were not being;
insisted upon by the Metropolitan Water Board, except in cases where they
had evidence that a waste of water is taking place.
Your Council were in agreement with the views of the resolution received
from the Wandsworth Council, and therefore resolved that a similar communication
be addressed to the Metropolitan Water Board, and that the
Wandsworth Borough Council be informed of the action taken.
