STAFF.
On the Clerical Staff, Mr. H. E. Read was transferred to the Works
Department, Mr. Samuel May promoted to his place, and Mr. R. W. Harmer
appointed to the place caused by the promotion.
On the Inspectorial Staff, on the 7th March, 1906, the Borough Council had
resolved that the Special Inspector cease to inspect disinfected rooms, and that
the District Inspectors undertake this duty. That the Special Inspector
continue to superintend the Disinfecting Station, Contact Shelter, and Cleansing
Station, and that he be given a District (the Town Hall District) formed of
part of Wards 3 and 6 in which to carry out the duties of District Inspector
and Food Inspector, and that it be also his duty to accompany other Inspectors
where confirmation of a drain test is necessary. On the 17th July, 1907, the
Borough Council resolved to relieve the Special Inspector of the supervision of
the Disinfecting Station and created the Senior Disinfector Foreman of the
Disinfecting and Cleansing Station. On the 18th December, 1907, the Special
Inspectors' District was extended to include the whole of the College and
Oakley Square Sub-Divisions (E 3, and 4) in which to carry out duties as Food
Inspector and District Inspector.
On the 31st July, 1907, the Borough Council resolved to dismiss a District
Inspector for neglect of duty, &c., and on the 18th September, 1907, the Borough
Council resolved not to appoint a Sanitary Inspector to fill the vacancy created.
