COMBINED DRAINAGE.
On the 17th April, 1907, the Borough Council resolved to convene a
Conference of Metropolitan Borough Councils with a view to obtaining legislation
to protect Metropolitan Sanitary Authorities from being burdened with
the cost of the maintenance of combined drains.
The Conference was held at the St. Pancras Town Ilall on the 24th June,
and a Committee was then appointed to prepare a Petition or Draft Bill
dealing with the law relating to combined drainage.
A second meeting of the Conference was held on the 6tb December, 1907,
to receive the Report of the Committee which was in the forin of Clauses for
a Draft Bill.
The Bill in its draft form as drawn by the Committee and which is now
hefore Parliament, introduced by Mr. W. H. Dickinson, m.p. for North
St. Pancras, is as follows:—
