Although there has been little occasions for interference with the kitchens
on the Women's Register either during 1902 or during 1903, the general
condition of these premises appears to be slightly better in 1903 than in 1902.
Some of these small kitchens are very well kept, and most of them are in
fair condition. In many cases the kitchen and the proceedings of the cook
are in full view of the customers. On the whole it may be said that the food
sold on these premises is stored and cooked under conditions better than those
which obtain in the homes of many of the customers.

ยง 6-WATER SUPPLY AND WATER SERVICE.
The condition of the water supplied by the New River Company and the
West Middlesex Water Works, has been reported in the Quarterly Reports, as
extracted from the Reports of the Analyst of the Local Government Board,
and the Chemists of the Water Companies.
The London Water Board will no doubt in due time take into consideration
the abatement of water charges, so as to enable water to be laid up to each floor
of a house let out in tenements, and also the questionable practice of allowing
draw taps to be placed in water-closets and urinals.
