§ 4. FOOD INSPECTORS' REPORTS.
Borough of St. Pancras,
Town Hall.
1902.
To the Medical Officer of Health.
Sir,
I beg to submit my report for the year ending December
31st, 1901.
The market streets, stalls, barrows, provisions, greengrocers, and fish shops
have been inspected by me daily. On 14 occasions I have found it necessary to
take foodstuffs, which were diseased or unsound, and unfit for human food,
all of which have been dealt with in accordance with the law.
Food Manufacture.
There are 11 places in my district where polonies and sausages are made on
an extensive scale; I have made 148 inspections of these places. The
premises for the most part are kept in a fairly clean condition, and the
ingredients used were sound and free from disease; at no time have I found
anything unwholesome or unfit for food.
Food and Drugs Acts.
I have obtained 242 samples of food under the above Acts, and submitted
the same to the Public Analyst for analysis.
