knowingly associates with other persons, and without having his
own person and clothes cleansed and disinfected to the satisfaction
of the Sanitary Authority he should be liable to a penalty.
E.— With regard to Vaccination.
7.—That the Local Government Board be requested to undertake to
supply lymph to any registered medical practitioner who may
apply for the same, instead of to public vaccinators only.
8.—That an amendment of the law is necessary, to ensure compulsory
vaccination and re-vaccination of all persons (who have
not been re-vaccinated within five years), in a dwelling-house
wherein Small-pox has broken out.
9.—That the powers and duties at present vested in Guardians of the
Poor with regard to vaccination and re-vaccination, should be
transferred to, and enforced by Borough Councils.
Re-vaccination.—On the 25th September, your Council resolved that in future
no candidate for an appointment, or applicant for a situation, the duties of
which may bring him into contact with Small-pox, be appointed or engaged,
unless he undertake to efficiently protect himself by vaccination or revaccination
as the case may require; the requirement to apply to women as
well as men.
CHICKEN-POX.
On the 25th September, your Council, as a matter of urgency, made an
Order under section 56 of the Public Health (London) Act, 1891, that
Chicken-pox be included in the notifiable infectious diseases referred to in
section 55, for a period of six months, the Order to come into force on the
12th October. The Order was approved by the Local Government Board on
the 2nd of October.

The notification of Chicken-pox was also adopted in the following Metropolitan Boroughs:—
