WATER SUPPLY.
Unsuccessful direct application having been made to the West Middlesex
Water Works Company to furnish a constant supply of water to the area within the
parish, situated between Primrose Hill and the London and North-Western Railway
Company's main line, an application was subsequently made to the London County
Council for the supply to be furnished. The County Council has required the Company
to furnish the supply to the area, and the Company has issued the usual advertisements
and served the notices. This is the first occasion on which the Metropolitan
Authority, formerly the Metropolitan Board of Works, now the London County
Council, has made such a " requirement."
When this supply will have been made constant, the only area remaining
under intermittent supply of water in St. Pancras will be a narrow strip lying
between Albany Street and Regent's Park.
