I have estimated the population of our district during the
year 1882, to be 237,800, a calculation based upon the fact
that in the preceding decade the population of St. Pancras
had increased annually at the rate of .66 per cent. Upon the
estimated population of 237,800, the birth and death rates of
1882, will be calculated.

The following is the estimated population of the different sub-registration districts.

The Registrar General's year to which this Report relates,
begins on January 1st, and ends on December 30th, 1882,
and therefore consists of 52 weeks.
During this period, 7772 births were registered in St.
Pancras, being the rate of 32.6 per 1000 of population. This
is the lowest birth rate since 1860, when the estimated
population was 196,000, and the birth rate was 32.6, the
same as in the present year.
