to Mr. Collyer for the time and effort which he so freely devoted
on our behalf. Our thanks also go to the Wandsworth Borough
Council for allowing us the free use of the Hall and amenities.
The Autumn Draw, which has now become an annual event, produced
£27 17s. 6d. and although this amount was less than that
raised in the previous year, it was nevertheless valuable. It is with
pleasure that we record our thanks to the following firms who
contributed donations and prizes for the Draw:—
Messrs. Carsons-Paripan Limited.
Messrs. Dawson & Company Limited.
Messrs. Festival Gardens Battersea Park Limited.
Messrs. Stan Gilbert (Battersea) Limited.
Messrs. J. Lyons & Company Limited.
Messrs. Prices Patent Candle Company Limited.
Messrs. The Rom River Company Limited.
Messrs. Stanley Bridges Limited.
In addition to these activities we still continue the collection
and sale of milk bottle tops and tin foil. Although the proceeds
are much reduced it is still thought that it is worth the effort
involved.
The year 1966 has seen the emergence of the Ministry of Social
Security, but this change has not altered in any way the sympathetic
consideration which has been shown to our patients by the officers
of the former Assistance Board and Ministry of Pensions and
National Insurance. The officers of the Ministry of Labour have
also been most helpful in their dealings and efforts to place our
patients in suitable work or to arrange training.
No report would be complete without recording our thanks and
appreciation of the support we have received during the year. The
Wireless for the Bedridden Society has been most generous to three
of our patients; the provision of a means to afford interest and
entertainment to those who are housebound or bedridden has been
of inestimable value. We must thank the Battersea Park Rotary
Club not only for the practical help given to individual patients
but also for a generous donation to our funds.
The Morganite Carbon Co.. Ltd., has continued the steady
support which has now covered a span of a great many years:
we very much appreciate the interest indicated in our work, as
well as the benefit to our funds. To all our friends who have provided
gifts of money, clothing, books and toys during the year we
express our sincere thanks.
In conclusion we place on record our thanks to Miss R. M.
Greenaway, the Committee's Secretary, and Miss M. Clifford,
Health Visitor, for their work on behalf of the Committee during
the year.
(Mrs.) E. A. COOPER.
Chairman.
