Infantile Mortality
There were 121 deaths of children under one year, giving an infant
mortality rate of 20.5 per 1,000 live births. This compares with a rate
of 22.7 for 1960.
For the 10 years ended 1951 the average infant mortality rate was
33, while for the 10-year period ending 1961 the average rate was 20.
Table 111(b) shows causes of death of children under one year of
age.
