London County Council (General Powers) Act, 1954
Hairdressers and Barbers
Section 18 of the above Act requires, inter alia, that, as from an
appointed day to be fixed by the Council, no person shall carry on
a business as a hairdresser or barber on any premises in a borough
unless he or those premises are registered by the Borough Council.
On 18th October, 1955, the Council decided to exercise the duties
and powers contained in the above Section, and fixed the appointed
day to be 1st April, 1956. During the year 220 registrations were
made.
