TUBERCULOSIS
Notifications
The total number of new cases which came to the notice of
the Department during 1953 was 663 compared with 666 in 1952.
The sources of information regarding the 663 new cases were
as follows:—
Primary notifications on Form A 388
Notifications from H.M. Forces 4
Unnotified at death 18
Transfers from other sanitary authorities 253
Total 663
Deaths
The number of deaths certified as due to various forms of tuberculosis
was 73.
Particulars of the new cases and deaths during the year, classified
by sexes and age groups are given in the following table:—
