TUBERCULOSIS.
Notifications.—The total number of new cases which came to
the notice of the Department during 1949 was 694 compared with
699 in 1948.
The sources of information regarding the 694 new cases were
as follows:—
Primary notifications on Form A 533
Notifications from H.M. Forces 15
Unnotified at death 18
Transfers from other sanitary authorities 128
Total 694
Deaths.—The number of deaths certified as due to diseases of
a tuberculous nature was 152.
