The following Table gives the number of food premises
and slaughterhouses in the Borough, and shows the number
of inspections made, the notices served and prosecutions taken.

The number of inspections of premises where food is sold
or prepared was 12,585, compared with 12,210 in 1926, 6,917
in 1925, and 3,244 in 1924, when a second Food Inspector
was appointed, and the duty of inspecting these premises was
transferred from the District Inspectors to the Food Inspectors.
