Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
TUBERCULOSIS.
Re-organisation.—Prior to 1923, all the routine work connected
with the operation and administration of the Tuberculosis
Regulations (1912) was carried out by the Public Health Department
Staff at 79, East Hill; whilst all the work connected with the
operation of the Council's Dispensary Scheme for the Treatment
of Tuberculosis was performed by the Dispensary Staff at the
Tuberculosis Dispensaries.
In order to bring about more efficient co-ordination and
supervision of the different branches of Tuberculosis work in the
Borough, it was decided to transfer to the Dispensary all records
pertaining to Tuberculosis, and all members of the Staff responsible
for Tuberculosis work. This transfer was effected on 1st October,
1923, the result now being that all records and correspondence
pertaining to a patient are in one place, while all visits to such a
patient are now made by the same Tuberculosis Visitor.
