Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The number of deaths was 19, and the death-rate per 1,000
was .05. The case mortality was 1.5 per cent.
In all, 1,257 cases were notified, 228 in Clapham, 57 in Putney,
332 in Streatham, 154 in Tooting, and 486 in Wandsworth, compared
with 1,978 in 1921.
The rate per 1,000 of population was 3.76, 3.70 in Clapham,
1.96 in Putney, 3.12 in Streatham, 3.93 in Tooting, and 4.99 in
Wandsworth.
22 cases occurred in institutions in Tooting.
Of the total number of cases, viz.—1,257—1,118, or 88 per cent.,
were removed to hospital.
As will be seen in Table XX, some schools were more affected
than others. The Medical Officers of the London County Council
made inspections of 15 schools during the year, and any suspected
cases were at once excluded and the names forwarded to me for
inquiry.

Of the 1,019 houses invaded, multiple cases occurred in 134,
or 13.1 per cent.
