Report of the Medical Officer oj Health.
appointed Deputy Medical Officer of Health, has continued to
supervise tne work of the Department and has been of great service
to the other officials in the Department.
At the Tuberculosis Dispensary, in the absence of Dr. Caley,
Dr. P. Nicol is still carrying out the work at both Dispensaries in a
very thorough and satisfactory manner.
The members of the staff mentioned in the 1914 Report are
still serving in the forces, except Mr. R. Brown, Sanitary Inspector,
A. Blake and E. Tyler, Disinfectors, who have been discharged on
medical grounds and have returned to their duties, and the work
is being carried on by temporary substitutes.
The staff has been augmented by the appointment of an
additional Health Visitor, Miss B. Wearing, who commenced her
duties on June 18th 1917.
With regard to the other members of the staff, I am pleased to
report that they have carried out all their duties in a most thorough
and conscientious manner.
I have the honour to be,
Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
P. CALDWELL SMITH.
