Report of the Medical Officer of Health. 79
Tooting, and 206 from Wandsworth, compared with 706 in 1914, of
which 138 were from Clapham, 46 from Putney, 170 from Streatham,
121 from Tooting, and 231 from Wandsworth. There was thus a
decrease in Clapham, Tooting and Wandsworth, an increase of
three in Putney, and Streatham was the same.
Four of the cases were under one year of age, 25 from one and
under five years, 54 from five and under 15 years, 119 from 15 and
under 25 years, 300 from 25 and under 45 years, 122 from 45 and
under 65 years, and 22 over 65 years.
In Table XLII. is shown the total number of cases notified
since 1908, the number of deaths in each year since that date, the
total deaths, the number removed from the district as far as could
be ascertained, the number who were stated to have recovered, the
number in which no inquiries were made, and the total number of
cases still on the Register.
In all, 4,253 cases have been notified, and of these, 1,832 or
43.1 per cent. have died, 908 or 21.3 per cent. have removed, 102 or
2.4 per cent. are stated to have recovered, in 24 or .56 per cent.
no inquiries have been made, while 1,387 or 32.6 per cent, are still
on the Register.
It will be noted that in 1912, 1913 and 1914 inquiries have been
made in every case, and in 1915 in every case except one, although
in 40 cases in 1912, 55 in 1913, and 32 in 1914 these inquiries were
made at my request by the private medical practitioner.
