The death-rate was "02 per 1,000, compared with -02 in 1914,
.04 in 1913, and .035 in 1912.
The case-rate per 1,000 births was 17 compared with 4.4 in
1914, 4.6 in 1913, and 4.0 in 1912, and for the whole of London 2.7
compared with 3.5.
In five of the cases registered midwives only were employed
while two of the cases were miscarriages, two were premature, and
two stillborn.
Two nurses came from Battersea, one was a district nurse, and
they all had baths at their own homes. In two cases no nurse was
employed.
In eight cases the personal clothing of the nurse was disinfected.
In any case where a registered midwife was in attendance a
report was forwarded to the London County Council.
Erysipelas.
195 cases of Erysipelas were notified during the year and nine
deaths occurred. 31 of the cases and one death occurred in Clapham,
15 cases and no death in Putney, 43 cases and two deaths in
Streatham, 33 cases and two deaths in Tooting, and 73 cases and
four deaths in Wandsworth.
In 1914 the number of cases notified was 234, and the deaths
11.
32 of the cases were removed to the Union Infirmary, where
seven died.
Measles.
During the year 152 deaths, 90 of males and 62 of females,
were due to Measles, compared with 26 in 1914, 116 in 1913, 51 in
1912, and 230 in 1911.
