Of the 563 houses invaded, multiple cases occurred in 82, or

22 of the Elementary Schools, four in Clapham, three in Putney,
eight in Streatham, and seven in Wandsworth, remained free from
Diphtheria during the year, compared with 20 schools in 1914.
In six schools, viz.Ensham Street, Fountain Road, Furzedown
Demonstration, Sellincourt Road, Swaffield Road and Roman
Catholic, Undine Street, it was necessary to have swabs taken
from the throats of the children. In Swaffield Road School many
swabs were taken at various times and seven cases were thus
discovered. In Undine Street School four positive cases, and one
each at Fountain Road, Furzedown Demonstration and Sellincourt
Road were also discovered in the same way.
