Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
Table XV. is the general mortality Table for the whole district,
corrected for internal and external Institutions, and also includes
all deaths of Borough residents occurring in other places in London,
and in England and Wales during the year.
Compared with 1914 there has been an increase in the number
of deaths from Measles, Influenza, Whooping Cough, Tuberculous
diseases, Cancer, diseases of the circulatory organs and Old Age, and
these increases are the cause of the death-rate for the year
having been higher than in 1914.
The deaths from Suicide have decreased from 22 in 1914 to
16 in 1915, and the deaths from accident from 86 in 1914 to 81 in
1915.
The four Tables which follow are inserted by request of the
Local Government Board.
The number of deaths shown in columns 2 and 11 on Table
XVII. do not agree with the total number of deaths shown on
Table XIV., as on the former Table the deaths of soldiers and
sailors occurring in hospitals, etc., in the Borough have, on the
instruction of the Local Government Board, been excluded.
