The total number of workplaces on the Register was 1,158
and 1,469 inspections were made, while 104 intimation notices were
served, but only one statutory notice was necessary.
The total number of defects found was 394, including 17 cases
in which there was a breach of special sanitary requirements for
bakehouses, compared with 524 and 22 in 1914.
To abate these nuisances, 297 notices, 291 intimation, and six
statutory were served, all of which, with the exception of two were
complied with at the end of the year.
Excluding outworkers' premises 369 defects were found and
367 remedied, but only 268 intimation notices were served, as one
notice frequently called attention to several defects on the same
premises.
