The number of houses and premises inspected was 39,410, a
decrease of 594 compared with 1914, but an increase of 607, compared
with 1913.
There was an increase in the number of houses and premises
inspected in Putney, Balham, Tooting and Fairfield Wards, and a
decrease in Clapham North and South, Streatham, Southfield and
Springfield Wards.
The total number of house-to-house inspections made was
1,862, compared with 2,396 in 1914, 2,739 in 1913, and 2,674 in
1912. There has been an increase in the number of these inspections
in Clapham North, Southfield and Springfield Wards, and a
decrease in Clapham South, Putney, Streatham, Tooting, and
Fairfield Wards, compared with 1914.
The number of these inspections has diminished owing to the
changes in the inspectorial staff on account of the war, and the
necessary inspections in some of the sub-districts of premises
occupied by the military.
