Cutting-off Notices.
During the year 87 notices with respect to 87 premises were
received from the Water Board stating that the supply had been
withdrawn.
22 of the premises were in Clapham, 15 in Putney, 20 in
Streatham, five in Tooting, and 25 in Wandsworth.
The supply was withdrawn for non-payment of rates from
50 premises, from 10 premises in consequence of defects, and in
27 the premises were empty.
Compared with 1914, there has been an increase of 40 in the
number of notices received, and of 45 in the number of premises
affected.
Mortuaries.
The Mortuaries in Clapham, Streatham, Tooting and Wandsworth
have been visited several times during the year, and I am
able to report that the By-laws and Regulations have been carried
out in a satisfactory manner.
With reference to the Wandsworth Mortuary the Public
Health Committee have on several occasions had the question of
providing a new Mortuary for Wandsworth before them, and plans
have been prepared and laid before the Committee, but owing to
the war the matter has been postponed.
The Mortuary at Tooting has been closed, but a temporary
one has been provided pending the erection of a new one in Wandsworth.
In Clapham, 21 bodies were removed to the Mortuary, compared
with 29 in 1914, in Streatham 35, compared with 46; and in
Wandsworth 127, of which 60 were from Wandsworth, 34 from
