Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
In 128, or 64.9 per cent. of the cases, a verdict of death from
Natural causes was returned; in 50 or 25.3 per cent., from Accidental
causes; in 15, or 7.6 per cent., from Suicidal causes; while
in four Open verdicts were returned.
33 of the Inquests were held on persons not belonging to the
Borough who died in the Borough. Four of these were on persons
who died in the Prison, two in the River Thames, five in Putney
Hospital, two in Tooting Bec Asylum, two in the Middlesex Asylum,
one in Springfield War Hospital, one in the 3rd London General
Hospital, two on the railway, and 14 in other places and on the
street.
