Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The Medical Officer of the London County Council excluded
four children from two schools during the year, in April and May,
until a medical certificate was received to the effect that the child
was free from infectious disease.
The homes of these children were visited, in some cases two
or three times, to see that medical attendance was provided.
It was necessary to carry out disinfection in Cavendish Road
Special, Hotham Road, Swaffield Road, Larkhall Lane and several
private schools, but in all these cases, with the exception of Hotham
Road, the disinfection was carried out without closing the schools.
Hotham Road, Swaffield Road, and Sellincourt Road Schools
were closed one week in advance of the Christmas holidays on
account of the prevalence of Scarlet Fever at these schools.
