Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
As last year, the insured cases of Tuberculosis showed more
males than females, the un-insured more females than males.
592 non-tuberculous cases made 1,304 attendances, an average
of 2.2 attendances per case, compared with 593 cases, 1,350 attendances,
average of 2.28 in 1913. In the non-tuberculous cases,
females predominated as in 1913.
Table LXXIII. is similar to the previous one, only showing the
new cases of 1913 which attended during 1914, and the attendances
they made.
To last year's 343 tuberculous cases have to be added four,
classed last year as non-tuberculous, which developed tuberculosis
in 1914, making a total of 347.
From Table LXXIII. it is seen that 223 of these cases attended
during 1914, making 3,126 attendances, an average of 14.01 attendance
per case. This average is more than twice that for the 1914
cases (6.72), because the bulk of the 223 cases are regular attendants.
