Of the remaining cases, viz.—243, in 54 or 12.5 per cent., the
diagnosis was incorrect, and 189 or 44 per cent. were not in attendance
at school.
In Clapham the number of cases of Diphtheria in attendance
at school was 29, the greatest number occurring in Parochial Old
Town School, and the next in Macaulay Road School.
In Putney only one case each occurred in All Saints', St.
Mary's and a private school.
In Streatham, Fircroft Road and Hearnville Road with seven
cases each were the highest.
The sub-district of Tooting was again very free from Diphtheria
during the year. Six cases occurred in Franciscan Road, three
of these being in October.
In Wandsworth there were 75 cases, and these occurred
sporadically during the year. In four of the schools only one case
occurred in each, in three two cases, in three three cases, in one four
cases, in three five cases, in two eight cases, in one 14 cases, and seven
cases occurred in various private schools.
The principal school affected in Wandsworth was Eltringham
Street, where 14 cases occurred, three in June, three in October,
two in December, and one each in February, March, April. July,
August and November.
Of the total number of cases notified 54 were incorrectly
diagnosed, compared with 41 in 1912, leaving a total of 376 actual
cases, compared with 390 in 1912, 468 in 1911, and 245 in 1910.
