No cases of Small-pox were notified during the year, none in
1906, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, or 1911, one in 1905, six in 1904, and
28 in 1903.
971 cases of Scarlet Fever were notified, compared with 833
in 1912, 869 in 1911, and 687 in 1910; of Diphtheria 430, compared
with 431, 510 and 284; of Enteric fever 50, compared with 71, 58
and 54; of Puerperal Fever 32, compared with 27, 24 and 20; and
of Erysipelas 204, compared with 207, 202 and 182.
Compared with 1912 there has been an increase in the number
of cases of Scarlet Fever, Puerperal Fever, Polio-Myelitis,
Ophthalmia Neonatorum and Cerebro-spinal Meningitis, and a
decrease in the number of cases of Erysipelas, and Enteric Fever.
Compared with the corrected decennial average there has been
a decrease in the number of cases of all the notifiable diseases with
the exception of Puerperal Fever and Cerebro-spinal Meningitis,
which show a slight increase.
