Of these deaths 76 occurred in the Fever Hospital, 10 from
Scarlet Fever, 22 from Diphtheria, 20 from Whooping Cough,
21 from Measles, one from Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and two from
Diarrhœa.
18 deaths from these diseases occurred in the Middlesex County
Asylum, two from Enteric fever, 15 from Tuberculous diseases, and
one from Diarrhœa; 15 in the Tooting Bee Asylum, 14 from
Tuberculous diseases, and one from Influenza; 23 in the Hostel
of God, 22 from Tuberculous diseases, and one from Influenza;
18 in the Tooting Home, all from Tuberculous diseases; five in the
Royal, Hospital for Incurables, four from Influenza, and one from
Tuberculous disease; one in H.M. Prison from Tuberculous
disease; 13 in the Fountain Asylum, nine from Tuberculous
diseases, one from Diarrhcea, and three from other infective
diseases; and one in the Workhouse from other infective diseases.
In other places not Institutions 13 deaths occurred, three from
Influenza, six from Tuberculous diseases, two from Diarrhœa, one
from Measles, and one from Erysipelas.
In Institutions in the Borough 87 deaths from infective diseases
occurred of persons belonging thereto, 38 in the Fever Hospital
at Tooting, 13 from Measles, eight from Scarlet Fever, one from
Enteric fever, 13 from Diphtheria, two from Tuberculous diseases,
and one from other infective diseases; 40 in the Tooting Home, all
from Tuberculous diseases; tliree in the Putney Hospital, one from
Diphtheria, one from Diarrhœa, and one from other infective
diseases; and six in other places, four from Tuberculous diseases,
one from Influenza, and one from other infective diseases.
Compared with 1912 this shows a decrease of three.
The next Table shows the death rates from these diseases for
the whole Borough and for each sub-district for the year 1913, as
well as for the preceding 10 years, and the rates above or below
the decennial average are also shown.
