Articles other than Milk, Cream and Butter.
Extent of the
adulteration
reported.
Of the samples submitted other than milk, cream, and butter
the number amounted to 408, 27 of which were
taken with the necessary formalities, whilst 381
were procured informally. The total number reported as adulterated,
or not up to standard, amounted to 32, (or 7.8 per cent.),
9 cases, (or 33.3 per cent.), occurring in the formal samples, and
23, (or 6.0 per cent.) in the informal.
The number and variety of the articles grouped under this
heading are shown in the Main Statement, with its accompanying
Tables A and B; whilst full details of the samples reported as
adulterated or not up to standard are given in Table F following.
Margarine.
Included under the heading "Margarine" are to be found
23 informal samples, Twenty of these formed the
subject of a special report to the Medical Officer,
and this report is here appended.

Dear Sir,
During the present month the Inspector has submitted for
analysis 20 informal samples of Margarine, and for the information
of the Public Health Committee I append the result of analyses
of these samples to my usual fortnightly report.
