Table IV. shows the average number of persons per inhabited
building, and of persons per family in 1901 and 1911 in London
and the Metropolitan Boroughs.
It will be observed that in Wandsworth the average number
of persons per inhabited dwelling was in 1901, 6.I4, and in 1911,
6.43, while the average number of persons per family was 4.66 in
1901 and 4.44 in 1911. For all London the average number of
persons per inhabited building was 7.93 in 1901, and 7.89 in 1911,
while the average number of persons per family was 4.45 in 1901
and 4.37 in 1911.
In the various Metropolitan Boroughs the highest average
number of persons per inhabited building was 13.15 in Holborn in
1911, and the lowest, 5.60, in Lewisham, followed by 5.73 in Woolwich,
and next by Wandsworth, which was 6.43.
The average number of persons per family shows very little
variation in the different Metropolitan Boroughs.
