Report of the Medical Officer of Health. 149
The whole of the work in connection with Pulmonary Tuberculosis
has been carried out in a most efficient manner by the Female
Sanitary Inspectors, and since the 1st April, 1913, more particularly
by the Health Visitor, whose whole time is devoted to this work.
The total number of visits made was 2,469 in cases of
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, 445 in Clapham, 149 in Putney, 665 in
Streatham, 343 in Tooting, and 867 in Wandsworth, and 360 in
cases of other forms of Tuberculosis, 58 in Clapham, 12 in Putney,
76 in Streatham, 61 in Tooting, and 163 in Wandsworth.
In addition to these visits by the Health Visitor, 242 visits were
made by the Dispensary Nurse, these visits being made by the
instruction of the Tuberculosis Officer to cases under his care at the
Dispensary.

the Borough is taken into consideration.

and the Medical Officers of Health of these were duly informed,
while 18 cases notified in other districts were notified to me by the
respective Medical Officers of Health.
During the year 30 sputum flasks have been supplied, and four
were returned after the death of the patient. In three of the cases
visited the patients already had one, but in many cases the patients
objected to their use.
Tuberculosis Dispensaries.

clerical work involved have during the year been carried out by the
Public Health Department, and have increased the work of the
