The average content of Boron preservative (in terms of Crystallised
Boric Acid) contained in the 218 samples of Butter (reported
as genuine) which contained this preservative amounted to 0.20
per cent., equivalent to 14.0 grains per lb. butter.

Of the samples submitted other than milk, cream, and butter
the number amounted to 326, 59 of which were
taken with the necessary formalities, whilst 267
