238 Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
Table CVII shows the nature of the trades carried on in the
workshops inspected.
There has again been a slight increase in the numbers, chiefly
due to increase in the number of small laundries, 89 of these being
now on the Register, compared with 82 in 1910.
The total number of dressmakers and milliners, etc., shows a
slight decrease compared with the previous year. The total
number, viz. :—878 (168 in Clapham, 108 in Putney, 326 in Streatham,
84 in Tooting, and 192 in Wandsworth), is four more than
in 1910, the greatest increase having occurred in Streatham, while
there has been a decrease in Wandsworth.
