Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
In Institutions in the Borough 29 deaths from Zymotic
diseases occurred of persons not belonging thereto, compared with
57 in 1909, 82 in 1908, 106 in 1907, and 90 in 1906. The decrease
in 1910 is due to the decrease in the number of deaths from
Scarlet Fever and Diphtheria.
Of these deaths 26 occurred in the hospitals of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board at Tooting, 10 from Scarlet Fever, and 15
from Diphtheria.
One death from Measles occurred in the Grove Hospital, one
death from Influenza in the Middlesex County Asylum, and one
from Enteric Fever in H.M. Prison.
In Institutions in the Borough 22 deaths from Zymotic
diseases occurred of persons belonging thereto, 21 in the Fever
Hospitals at Tooting, nine from Scarlet Fever, and 12 from
Diphtheria.
Compared with 1909, this shows a decrease of three deaths
from Scarlet Fever, and of seven deaths from Diphtheria.
The next Table shows the death-rates from these diseases for
the whole Borough and for each sub-district for the year 1910, as
well as for the preceding 10 years, and the rates above or below
the decennial average are also shown.
