Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The next Table shows in detail the work of the Inspectors in
factories and workshops where males are chiefly employed.
The Table shows the work done in each sub-district and is
grouped under five divisions: (1) factories, (2) workshops, (3)
•domestic workshops, (4) workplaces, and (5) outworkers' premises.
The total number of inspections was 2,263, compared with
2,408 in 1907 and 1,964 in 1906, and re-inspections 1,394, compared
with 1,298 and 1,649.
809 of the inspections and 1.41 of the re-inspections were in
Clapham, 245 and 481 in Putney, 454 and 166 in Streatham, 152
and 63 in Tooting, and 603 and 544 in Wandsworth.
Three workshops where males were employed were notified
to H.M. Inspector, and eight were reported to this Council by
H.M. Inspector.
In all the workshops under the supervision of the male
Inspectors only five cases of overcrowding were discovered, and
these were at once remedied.
