Inspection of Urinals in connection with Licensed
Premises.
The number of urinals inspected was 127, 36 in Clapham, 20
in Putney, 27 in Streatham, 14 in Tooting-, and 40 in Wandsworth.
366 inspections were made during the year and 64 notices,
chiefly for cleansing, were served and complied with.
Police Court Proceedings.
The list* which follows shows particulars of Police Court
proceedings under the Public Health (London) Act, 1891, during
the year.
The total amount of fines inflicted was £27 4s., and the costs
£11 11s., compared with £99 8s. 6d. and £14 6s. 5d. in 1907.
The majority of the summonses served were with respect to
nuisances or contravention of By-laws, but three of the cases were
for permitting a house to be occupied without first having obtained
a certificate from the Sanitary Authority that the premises had a
proper and sufficient supply of water. Two were for exposing
unsound food for sale, one for carrying carcase of a horse through
the street in an improper vehicle, and one for carrying on the
business of a purveyor of milk without being registered.
