Victoria Road.
New kerb and granite sett channel have been laid on the east
side, from Wandsworth Road to No. 64, and on the
west side, from Wandsworth Road to No. 18, and
the footpath paved with artificial stone, at a cost of £577 9s. 0d.
Wardley
Street.
Old kerb and new scoriae block channel have been laid on the
north and south sides, from Garratt Lane to Lydden
Grove, at a cost of £210 12s. 4d.
Warple Way.
Old granite sett channelling has been laid on the north and
south sides, from Fairfield Street to York Road, at
a cost of £188 1 0s. 4d.
Westcote Road.
A strip of land given up by the owner, about 76 feet in length
and 9 feet 4 inches in width, on the west side,
opposite Nos. 65 to 71, has been added to the
public way and tar-paved, at a cost of £13 8s. 0d.
West Hill.
The Council having acquired a portion of the forecourt in
front of the Police Station, the dwarf wall and railings
have been set back and the land acquired,
thrown into the highway and paved with York stone. The total
cost, including the land, setting back and making good the wall
and fencing, which was carried out by Messrs. W. & C. Brown,
being £74 3s. 5d.
York Road.
The old paving has been taken up on the north and south
sides, opposite Nos. 358, 523, 527, 529, 531, 533,
535, 537, 550 and 66, Fairfield Street, and new artificial
paving laid on forecourts acquired in connection with widening.
The cost of the paving works, including making good brickwork
of cellars of No. 358, amounted to £44 i1. 6d.
The carriageways of the following roads have been converted
from flint to granite macadam, viz. :—
Back Lane, from Streatham High Road to North Surrey Golf
Club Grounds.
Burntwood Lane, from Swaby Road to Beechcroft Road.
Granville Road, from Merton Road to Wimbledon Park Road..
Longley Road, from Tooting High Street to Miteham Road.
Montserrat Road, from Burstock Road to Oxford Road.
Valley Road, from No. 204 to Russell's Footpath.
