In addition to the above, 51 drains, comprising 1,070 feet of 6-inch
pipe have been laid under new roads at the time of, and in conjunction
with, the construction of new sewers; these are intended to drain
about 51 houses when built (the provision in many cases being for a
future system of rear drainage by combined operation). Thus an
aggregate of 5,321 feet of drains have been laid under roads and
paths in the Borough for various purposes during the year.
